No hace mucho un grupo de incansables exploradores del vino y brandy de Jerez, visitamos la bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla.

Not long ago, a group of tireless Sherry wine and brandy explorers,  visited the Rey Fernando de Castilla winery.

Su bodeguero, Jan Petersen  nos acompañó durante la visita, compartió con nosotros las características de sus excelentes vinos y brandies y pudimos probarlos en la bodega sacados de la bota que es como mejor saben.

The vintner, Jan Pertersen, accompanied us throughout our visit, sharing his knowledge with us regarding the characteristics of his excellent wines and brandies.  We were also able to try some of his wines directly from their casks, which is when they have a special and unique taste.

Tuvimos la gran suerte de coincidir con Julian Jeffs y su mujer que visitaban la bodega ese día. Estamos deseando que se publique la nueva edición de su libro “Sherry”.

We were very fortunate to meet Julian Jeffs and his wife who were visiting the bodega. We are very much looking forward to the publishing of the latest edition of his book “Sherry”.

Hay dos gamas de vinos, la CLASSIC que son los genuinos vinos de Jerez y que incluye, fino, manzanilla, amontillado, cream y pedro Ximénez.  La segunda es la gama ANTIQUE, vinos viejos de Jerez de edición limitada y calidad excepcional entre los que se incluyen, fino, palo cortado, amontillado, oloroso y pedro Ximénez.  Estos vinos han recibido muchas distinciones tanto nacionales como internacionales.

There are two product lines.  First, is the CLASSIC line which includes the basic Sherry wines which include fino, manzanilla, amontillado, cream, and Pedro Ximenez.  The second line is called ANTIQUE.  These are very mature Sherry wines that are of limited edition and of exceptional quality. Those include fino, palo cortado, amontillado, oloroso, and Pedro Ximenez sherries.  All of these wine have received many awards, both at a national and an international level.

Además de estos excelentes brandies Fernando de Castilla elabora unos vinagres de Jerez viejos.

Apart from excellent brandies and wines, the Fernando de Castilla winery also produces some excellent aged Sherry vinegar.
