Last Thursday was the lighting ceremony and grand opening at the Feria in El Puerto.  This year´s unmistakable protaganist was the 21-meter tall Osborne Bull which was constructed incorporating almost 20,000 LED lights.  It was a beautiful and spectacular sight to see all the lights go on all at once.

El pasado jueves fue la ceremonia del encendido de la Feria de El Puerto.  Sin duda este año el protagonista ha sido el toro de Osborne de 21 metros de altura y con veinte mil bombillas led.  Fue espectacular ver como se encendían todas las luces.

The Sherry Explores were well-represented that evening.  After the lighting ceremony, we enjoyed the gentle breeze, a perfect Spring evening, and some cold Fino Quinta sherry wine.

Los Sherry Explorers estuvieron bien representados y después del encendido, disfrutamos de una perfecta noche de primavera con una agradable brisa y Fino Quinta bien frío.

The next day, we were back for more.  Although, this time we switched our Pith helmets for Sevillana dresses.

Al día siguiente volvimos pero esta vez cambiamos nuestros salacots por trajes de flamenca.

If we had our Sevillana dresses on, we had to dance Sevillanas!  We were able to work up a healthy appetite for lunch!  It was great fun.

Ya que llevábamos trajes de flamenca, había que bailar sevillanas y nos “jartamos”.  Tanto bailar nos abrió el apetito y a picotear.  Lo pasamos genial.

 Next day, with good friends from the Ateneo del Vino, beautiful dresses, and beautiful ladies.  Unfortunately, Feria only happens once a year.  To those friends who weren´t here, including all of you from the U.S., come and join us next year.

Al día siguiente, con buenos amigos del Ateneo del Vino, preciosos trajes y preciosas flamencas.  Desgraciadamente, la Feria solo pasa una vez al año.  A todos los amigos que no estuvisteis aquí, incluyendo a los de los EE.UU., os esperamos el año próximo.
