La Bodega Osborne en El Puerto de Santa María está de enhorabuena, el día 31 de este mes inaugurará el nuevo espacio expositivo “Toro Gallery”.  Un grupo del sector turístico asistimos hace unos días y nos quedamos muy gratamente sorprendidos.  Iván Llanza, Director de Comunicación de Bodegas Osborne, nos explicó todo sobre este increíble proyecto.  Nos dio la bienvenida y dijo unas palabras el Concejal de Turismo de El Puerto, el Sr. Ángel Quintana Fernández.

The Osborne Bodega, in El Puerto de Santa María, is celebrating.  On the 31st of this month, they will inaugurate their new exhibition space – the “Toro Gallery.”  A group from the tourism sector visited the gallery a few days ago and we were pleasantly surprised.  Iván Llanza, Communications Director for the Osborne Bodega, explained everything about this incredible project.  He welcomed us and then we listened to a few words from the City of El Puerto Councilman for Tourism, Ángel Quintana Fernández.

La verdad es que impresiona.  La Toro Gallery es un espacio abierto tipo las bodegas catedral.  La exposición comienza con fotos y documentos de la historia de la familia fundadora de la bodega, después nos hace viajar en el tiempo desde el primer toro de Osborne, hace ya 60 años hasta los que vemos hoy.

The exhibition hall is truly impressive.  The Toro Gallery is an open space with a classic bodega, cathedral-type ceiling.  The exhibition starts with some photos and documents relating to the story of the founding family of the winery.  Then you take a trip back in time to when the first Osborne Bull billboard was erected.  Traveling through the subsequent 60-year period, via those photos and documents, you reach the present day.

Entre las muchas obras de la Gallery hay fotografías de Annie Leibovitz, obras de Keith Haring, un anuncio animado de Salvador Dalí, una guitarra Gibson fabricada con madera utilizada para envejecer jerez, la réplica de la portada de la feria de El Puerto.

Among the many works on display at the gallery there are photographs taken by Annie Leibovitz, artwork by Keith Haring, an animated comercial by Salvador Dalí, a Gibson guitar made out of wood utilized to age sherry wine, and a replica of the entry structure for the El Puerto fairground.

Recomendamos la visita a este nuevo espacio que contrasta con la bodega maravillosa de vinos viejos justo al lado.  La visita perfecta, bodega y Gallery.

We highly recommend a visit to this newly-created space which is in perfect contrast to the marvelously-old bodega, containing aged wines, which is right by its side.  It is a perfect visit – a bodega and a gallery.

Después de la visita no falto una copa de jerez o un riquísimo Mojito del Sur:  (copa de coctel con hielo. Añadimos una cucharadita de azúcar blanco o moreno, una rodaja de limón exprimida y una cucharada de angostura. Ponemos dos hojas de hierbabuena aplastadas con la mano,  y llenamos media copa con Fino Quinta, el resto de la copa con Ginger Ale y removemos).  Acompañampos el coctel y los vinos con jamón Cinco Jotas, exquisito

After our visit, we either had a glass of sherry wine or a flavorful Southern Mojito:  (You take a cocktail glass with ice, add a teaspoon of either white or brown sugar, a slice of squeezed lemon, and a tablespoon of angostura bitters. Add two mint leaves crushed by hand, and fill half of the glass with Fino Quinta, fill the rest of the glass with Ginger Ale,  and, then stir).  We accompanied our cocktail and wine with Cinco Jotas Iberian ham, which was exquisite.
