El Jerez viaja a Nueva York de la mano de la exposición fotográfica Divino Jerez de la artista María Higuero y de la cata que dirigirá la especialista Virginia Miller con motivo del Congreso de la Federación de Asociaciones Españolas en EE. UU. (FAEUSA) que se celebrará del 17 al 24 de este mes de mayo en LA NACIONAL.

Sherry is traveling to New York along with the photo exhibit “Divina Jerez presented by photographer Marí Higuero.  She will join Virginia Miller, Certified Sherry Wine Educator, at the annual Conference of the FAEUSA (Federación de Asociaciones Españolas en EE. UU) (Federation of Spanish Associations in the United States) which will be held from the 17th to the 24th of May at the “La Nacional” Spanish Benevolent Society.

Jerez y Nueva York unidos por la imagen, el sabor, el aroma, los sentimientos de una tierra de tradiciones para disfrute de los españoles que a un lado y otro del Atlántico comparten el amor por su tierra.

Sherry wine and New York will be joined via photographic images, taste, aroma, and the emotions of a land of tradition, so that they may enjoy the company of Spaniards who, on both sides of the Atlantic, share their love for their homeland.

Durante el Congreso los asistentes disfrutarán de una cena maridada con vinos de González Byass que presentará la directora de Discover Sherry, Virginia Miller, Formadora Homologada del Vino de Jerez.

During the conference, the attendees will partake in a paired tasting with sherry wines provided by the González Byass winery and which will be presented by the director of Discover Sherry, Virginia Miller, Certified Sherry Wine Educator.

Treinta y tres retratos conforman la España en la memoria de quienes desde Nueva York verán reflejado en la obra su origen, su tradición, su esencia… Una reseña poética en cada imagen nos cuenta como en off la escucha de las sesiones fotográficas.  La exposición se inaugurará el 17 de mayo a las 19:30 horas con una copa de jerez de las Bodegas Maestro Sierra.

Thirty three photos comprise the essence of Spain in the memory of those who, from New York, will recognize their origin, their tradition, their essence, reflected in this work of art.   Below each image there is a poetic summary of that which was heard in the background during each photographic session.  The exhibition will officially open on the 17th of May at 7:30 p.m. with an offer of a glass of sherry wine provided by the Maestro Sierra Winery.

Tanto la exposición como la cena-maridada tendrá lugar en la sede de La Nacional, la sociedad española más antigua de Nueva York, más de 150 años de existencia y por la que han pasado artistas de la talla de Dalí, Picasso, Buñuel o Federico García Lorca.

Both the exhibition and the paired-tasting will be held at “La Nacional,”  the oldest Spanish benevolent society in New York.  It has been in existence for more than 150 years and has welcomed famous artists like Dalí, Picasso, Buñuel, and Federico García Lorca.

El 20 de mayo, primer día del congreso, tendrá lugar a las 19:00 h un paseo por la exposición Divino Jerez y un brindis con Manazanilla La Guita de la Bodega del Grupo Estévez y seguidamente la cena- maridada con vinos de González Byass.

On the 20th of May, the first day of the exhibition,  at 7 p.m., there will be a tour of the “Divino Jerez” exhibition and a toast with the manzanilla sherry wine “La Guita” provided by Grupo Esteves.  Afterwards, the paired-tasting will be held featuring wines provided by the González Byass winery

Algunos de los regalos que vamos a llevar para el sorteo que haremos durante la cena, camisetas y delantales de D´Sherru Explorers y de Discover Sherry, pen-drives de Tío Pepe, mini venencias de Torquemada entre otros.  También llevamos los vasitos para la copa de Manzanilla La Guita y los picos de Don Pelayo que acompañarán la cena.  No sé cómo cabrá todo en la maleta, menos mal que somos tres.

Some of the doorprizes that we will take along with us, for our traditional drawing at the tasting, will be D´Sherry Explorer t-shirts and aprons, Tío Pepe pendrives, Torquemada mini-venencias, among others.  We are also taking along the glasses for the Manzanilla La Guita sherry and Don Pelayo bread sticks to accompany our dinner.  I´m not sure that I can fit all of that in one suitcase, but since there will be three of us I am sure that we can find a way.
