Celebramos nuestra segunda gala de los Sherry Explorers.  Al igual que el año pasado, fue una gala preciosa y lo más importante, todo el mundo lo pasó genial.

Recently, we held our second Sherry Explorers´annual gala.  Just like last year,  it was a beautiful celebration and, most importantly, everyone had a great time.

La cena tuvo lugar en la Bodega Los Apóstoles de González Byass y la decoración, como veis, era preciosa.  La vajilla es copia de la que usaba la familia González-Gordon hace muchos años en Villa Vitorina.

The dinner was held at the González-Byass  “Bodega Los Apóstoles.”   The decorations, as you can see above, were incredible.  The table china was a replica of the set that was used for many years by the  González-Gordon family at the Villa Vitorina.

Todos nos hicimos fotos al llegar en el photo-call y disfrutamos de una copa de los vinos de González Byass y riquísimos entremeses. Muchos Sherry Explorers, algunos Sherry Explorers Honorarios nombrados el año pasado, alumnos del Colegio Miller, amigos, en fin, un ambiente estupendo y todos elegantísimos.

We all had our pictures taken at the photo-call, followed by some delicious appetizers which were paired with a glass, or two, of  fabulous González-Byass sherry wines. In attendance there were many Sherry Explorers, including some of last year´s Honorary Sherry Explorers, many Miller School alumni,  and many more friends.  In the end, it was a very pleasant and elegant atmosphere.

El equipo de Discover Sherry dimos la bienvenida a todos los invitados y  pasamos a el momento del juramento de los nuevos Sherry Explorers.  ¡¡Nada menos que 35 nuevos Incansables Exploradores del Vino de Jerez!!

The Discover Sherry Team greeted all of our guests and we proceeded to the swearing-in of our newest Sherry Explorers.   There were no less than 35  new “Tireless Explorers of Sherry Wine” added to our roster!!

 

Todos hicieron su juramento y ya somos 390 exploradores del jerez.

After having taken their oaths, we became a group of 390-strong!

Después de disfrutar de la deliciosa cena armonizada con los estupendos vinos de la bodega llegó el momento más solemne de la noche.

After having enjoyed a delicious dinner complemented by the bodega´s sherry wines, it was time for the most “solemn” part  of the evening.

Se hizo el nombramiento de los Sherry Explorers Honorarios de este año 2016.  Se impusieron las becas y César Saldaña y José Argudo, (Sherry Explorers Honorarios de 2015), entregaron los diplomas.

The 2016 Honorary Sherry Explorers were introduced.  They donned their stoles and  both César Saldaña and José Argudo (2015 Honorary Sherry Explorers) presented the diplomas.

Les entregamos también una “copita” de Palo Cortado Leonor grabada con EDU, nuestra mascota y sus nombres para así brindar por este momento tan especial y divertido.

We also presented them with “a small glass” of Leonor Palo Cortado sherry wine.   The glasses were engraved with each honoree´s name and with an image of  the Sherry Explorer mascot EDU,  in order to commemorate such a special and light-hearted moment.

Las chicas del Equipo Discover Sherry me regalaron un ramo precioso, ¡¡MUCHAS GRACIAS!!

The ladies of the members of our Sherry Team kindly gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Después todos disfrutamos de cócteles, de la música a cargo de Sonitus Sonido e Iluminación, y del animador Salvi Virues que nos hizo mover el esqueleto a tope.  Hicimos hasta un baile de los chicos contra las chicas, ¡ganamos las chicas, claro!  pero los chicos no lo hicieron nada mal.  Gracias a todos por hacer que fuese una noche memorable.  ¡El año que viene, más!

Afterwards, we enjoyed some after-dinner cocktails, the music provided by  Sonitus Sonido e Iluminación, and the company of Salvi Virues, dance-guru, who made us all shake our bones until they rattled.  We even had a women-versus-men segment.  The women won, of course, but the men actually did pretty well.  Thank you very much to everyone for making this such a memorable evening.  Let´s do it again next year!
