In 1982, the Casa Chan Restaurant was the first Chinese restaurant to be opened in Jerez de la Frontera.  The son of the original owners, Carlos Chan Wu,  was a student at the Miller English School.  Today, he invited us to try some of the culinary delights served at his restaurant.   We were pleasantly surprised when we were joined by Pablo Cosano, Jaime Corchero, and Eugenio Camacho , who are also Miller School alumni.

We enjoyed a delicious Chinese fondue (Huo Kuo) and also tried out some of the Chinese tapas which we will be serving at the Sherry Explorer´s meeting on the 27th.  The tasting, directed by Sherry Wine Educator Monica Zhou, will compare Chinese rice wines with Sherry wines. We are sure that the attendees will have a great time.
