Nuestro viaje a Texas fue corto pero intenso.  Además de la estupenda cata de Vinos de Jerez en Tribeca, San Antonio, que ya os hemos contado, en El Paso hubo un pequeño juramento de Sherry Explorers muy emocionante.  Tuvimos la suerte de coincidir con la colaboradora de nuestro blog, Mari Ángeles Gallardo y su marido Alfonso en El Paso.  Mari Ángeles hacía tiempo que quería hacerse Sherry Explorer y así lo hicimos.  También vinieron a vernos Eva y José desde Bettendorf, Iowa, y en casa de nuestros anfitriones, Sussana y Alfredo, Mari Ángeles organizó una cena perfecta.  EDU, la mascota de los Sherry Explorers, no podía faltar y presidió la mesa.

Our trip to Texas was short but intense.  In addition to the wonderful Sherry tasting that we hosted at the Tribeca Restaurant in San Antonio (which we have previously told you about), in El Paso we held a small, but exciting,  Sherry Explorer swearing-in ceremony.  We had the great fortune of meeting-up with a contributor to our blog, Mari Ángeles Gallardo, and her husband Alfonso, when we were in El Paso.  Mari Ángeles had been wanting to be sworn-in as a Sherry Explorer and we took advantage of the occasion in order to do so.  We were also very lucky to meet-up with our friends Eva and José who came to visit us all the way from Bettendorf, Iowa. That evening, Mari Angeles organized the perfect dinner at the beautiful home of our hosts, Sussana and Alfredo.  Of course,  EDU, the Sherry Explorers mascot, was present, and presiding, at our dinner table.

We paired Chef Michael Ross´ incredible menu with a Palo Cortado sherry – “Península” from the Lustau winery in Jerez, just perfect!Después de la cena llegó el momento del juramento y nuestros amigos se unieron a los Sherry Explorers.   Era la primera vez que se hacía el juramento en El Paso.  Los primeros de Ciudad de México, donde viven Mari Ángeles y Alfonso; la primera pareja en El Paso, Texas, donde viven Sussana y Alfredo y los primeros de Bettendorf, Iowa, donde viven Eva y José.  Bienvenidos a este estupendo grupo que sigue creciendo poco a poco y extendiéndose por el mundo mundial!!

After our dinner, the moment arrived for the swearing-in ceremony and our friends then joined the ranks of the Sherry Explorers. It was the first time in El Paso.   These Sherry Explorers include the first from Mexico City, where Mari Angeles and Alfonso live;  the first couple from El Paso, Texas where Sussana and Alfredo live; and the first from Bettendorf, Iowa, where  Eva and José live.  Welcome to this wonderful group that continues to grow little by little, and is now reaching out to many parts of the globe!!Un millón de gracias a todos por una tarde maravillosa. ¡Os esperamos en la Tierra del Jerez!
