Nuestro viaje a León fue corto pero intenso. Además de la cena armonizada con vinos de la Bodega Delgado Zuleta en el Restaurante Delirios, que ya os hemos contado, tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar las Cuevas del Vino en Valdevimbre y descubrir dos vinos de la D.O. Tierras de León con unas características muy especiales, el blanco elaborado con la uva Albarín y el tinto de uva Prieto Picudo. Nos gustaron mucho y disfrutamos de ellos con sus platos típicos. Las cuevas son verdaderamente impresionantes, muchas de ellas convertidas en restaurantes y donde degustamos el típico lechazo, cecina, morcilla, pimientos, chorizo picante, entre otras delicias. Our trip to León was brief but intense. In addition to the paired tasting with wines from the Delgado Zuleta Winery at the Delirios Restaurant, (which we have previously told you about) we had the opportunity to visit the Wine Caves in the town of Valdevimbre. There we discovered two wines, that are produced in the Tierras de León Denomination of Origin, with some very special characteristics. They were a white wine that is made from the Albarín grape variety and a red wine that is made with the Prieto Picudo grape variety. We liked them very much and enjoyed them with many of the traditional dishes that are served in León. The Wine Caves were equally as impressive. Many of them have been converted into restaurants and it was there where we also tasted some traditional, baby lamb, ´cecina´,blood sausage, peppers, and spicy chorizo sausage, among other culinary delights.
