El Ateneo del Vino de El Puerto de Santa María celebró sus XXIII Jornadas del Vino Fino en la Bodega El Cortijo. Beltrán Domecq Williams, Presidente del Consejo Regulador de los Vinos del Marco del jerez y Sherry Explorer Honorario, fue nombrado Socio de Honor del Ateneo. Los cinco ponentes, de los cuales cuatro son Sherry Explorers Honorarios, hablaron del fino, de la manzanilla, de la situación actual en el mercado, de los tesoros y vinos favoritos de cada uno. Cada uno expuso su punto de vista y después de una intensa e interesante discusión todos estuvieron de acuerdo que nuestros vinos son únicos, son verdaderos tesoros, no son fáciles, hay que seguir promocionándolos e intentar darles su verdadero valor. Después se degustaron dichos magníficos vinos de distintas bodegas del marco. Pasamos una velada estupenda y tuvimos oportunidad de ver a muchos amigos. Asistieron muchos Sherry Explorers, como debe ser. Enhorabuena al Ateneo del Vino por una magnífica jornada.
The El Puerto de Santa María Association of The Fino Wine held its 23rd Annual Vino Fino Celebration at the El Cortijo´s Bodega salon. Beltrán Domecq Williams, President of the Regulatory Counsel for the Sherry Wine Production Area, who is also tan Honorary Sherry Explorer, was named an Honorary Member of the Association of The Fino Wine. The five presenters, four of which are Honorary Sherry Explorers, talked about Fino and Manzanilla sherry wines, and about the present state of the sherry wine global market. Each presenter provided his perspective, and after a lively and informative debate, they all concurred that our wines are unique and true treasures. And, although for many of us these wines are our personal favorites, it was also recognized that our wines are not easy to get to know. Accordingly, it was very clear that we must continue to promote them in order for the world to be aware of their true value.
After the presentation, we had the privilege of tasting these magnificent wines, many of which were offered by various wineries from the Sherry region. We all had a wonderful evening and we also had the opportunity to meet up again with many of our friends. There were many Sherry Explorers in attendance, as there should have been. We congratulate the Association of The Fino Wine for hosting such a magnificent event.
