The Sherry Explorers celebrate International Sherry Week at Hotel Puerto Sherry

Después de dos años sin poder reunirnos y organizar actividades, por fin y con motivo de la Sherry Week nos reunimos en el Hotel Puerto Sherry.  Siguiendo nuestro tema de “EL JEREZ VA CON TODO…”  decidimos armonizar unos excelentes vinos de la Bodega Osborne con …el MAR.

After two years of being unable to meet and to organize activities, we were finally able to get together in order to celebrate International Sherry Week at the Hotel Puerto Sherry.  Following our belief that “Sherry wines pair perfectly with everything…,” we decided to harmonize some excellent wines from the Osborne winery with …the OCEAN.

Daniel Martínez de Puerto Sherry, fue introduciendo cada uno de los exquisitos platos y Carla Terry Osborne, de la Bodega Osborne nos describió cada uno de los vinos muy especiales que había elegido para nosotros. Así mismo cada plato fue acompañado de un poema marino recitado por distintas damas de la Asociación de las Voces Lectoras de El Puerto.

 Daniel Martínez, representing Puerto Sherry, introduced each of the exquisite dishes prepared by the hotel’s chefs, and Carla Terry Osborne, from the Osborne winery, presented the tasting notes for each of the special wines that she had selected for the attendees.  In addition, each dish and paired wine were followed by a “sea-related” poem recited by various members of the Asociación de las Voces Lectoras de El Puerto,  (a literary and poetry group from El Puerto de Santa Maria).

Después de comer, 50 de los asistentes hicieron muy ilusionados su juramento de Sherry Explorers, ¡BIENVENIDOS!

Finalizó la velada con un grupo flamenco y muy buen rato con los amigos.

After this incredible meal, 50 of the attendees enthusiastically took the Sherry Explorers’ oath.   WELCOME!

The evening concluded with an excellent performance by a local flamenco group and, of course, a great time amongst old and new friends.
