Los Sherry Explorers exploramos en Jerez de la Frontera, La Galería del Jerez.  Fue una visita interesante, disfrutamos viendo botellas de jerez, manzanilla y brandy muy antiguas, muchas de bodegas que ya no existen y muchos elementos como carteles, ceniceros, copas, en fin, un museo que merece la pena visitar.

Recently, a group of Sherry Explorers and friends explored La Galería del Jerez  (the Sherry Wine Gallery) located in Jerez de la Frontera.  It was a very interesting visit.  We enjoyed seeing historic bottles of sherry, manzanilla and brandy that were from wineries that no longer exist. There were also many other memorabilia items such as posters, ashtrays, glasses, etc.  In short, it is a Sherry wine museum worth visiting.

La cata de los vinos fue impartida por el enólogo Paco Salas que nos fue descubriendo con esa pasión que le sale del corazón, las características tan especiales de esos vinos VORS (Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum) de la Colección Roberto Amillo que catamos así como un buen fino en rama.

The wine-tasting was conducted by oenologist Paco Salas who, with his special ability to speak with a passion, revealed to us the truly amazing characteristics of these VORS (Very Old Rare Sherry) wines from the Roberto Amillo Collection, as well as a good fino en rama.

Como siempre, en nuestras reuniones de Sherry Explorers, había representación de diferentes países.  Unos diez norteamericanos, y también algunos de Francia, Italia, Polonia y de diferentes partes de España.

As always at our Sherry Explorer gatherings, there were people who represented all parts of the world.  In addition to ten Americans, there were also persons from France, Italy, Poland, and different parts of Spain.

Aprendimos mucho, exploramos unos jereces viejos, estupendos y 14 de los asistentes hicieron el juramento de Sherry Explorers que les ha cambiado la vida.  ¡Bienvenidos al grupo de los incansables exploradores del vino y brandy de jerez y manzanilla de Sanlúcar!  ¡Ya somos 1375 Sherry Explorers en el mundo mundial!

We learned a lot and discovered some incredible VORS wines.   Also, 14 of the attendees took the life-changing Sherry Explorer´ pledge.   We welcome this small group to the much larger group of ¨the tireless explorers of sherry wine, Sanlúcar Manzanilla wine, and Jerez Brandy!¨  We are now 1375 Sherry Explorers strong, throughout the world!
