The Barbadillo Winery and the Tribeca Restaurant from Seville offered “A TASTY SOUTHERN APPOINTMENT”. We toured the 200 year old winery at sunset. It was a great experience.

Montse Molina, the Technical Director, and future Honorary Sherry Explorer, told us the secrets of the wonderful wines that we enjoyed from the moment we arrived, during the visit to the winery, and during the tasting-menu dinner, which took place in the Garden of San Guillermo.

The General Manager of the winery Barbadillo, Victor Velez, welcomed us and introduced us to Tribeca’s Chef, Jaime Giménez, who offered a special menu inspired by southern cuisine with nods to the winery’s origins, which was paired with its wines.

The different wines, various Manzanillas, Amontillado, Oloroso, harmonized wonderfully with the different menu items such as: Ajo Blanco soup, prawn tartar, stuffed squid with tartar sauce, blood sausage croquettes, amongst others. We were accompanied by two violinists who made the evening perfect.

It was a great experience and we met new friends who will visit us in the Sherry Explorers activities. A curious thing is that about three years ago we did a tasting of wines from Marco del Jerez at a restaurant also called Tribeca in San Antonio, Texas.
