¡Un día maravilloso en la viña La Zarzuela! A wonderful day at La Zarzuela Vineyard!

Llegó el día, un día fresco y ventoso en el que los SHERRY EXPLORERS se reunieron en la Viña La Zarzuela para ver y vivir de cerca “El Viñedo en Febrero” y degustar el mosto artesanal ganador del tercer premio the Mostos Artesanales del Consejo Regulador del Jerez-Xeres-Sherry.

The day arrived. It was a cool and windy day when the SHERRY EXPLORERS gathered at the Zarzuela Vineyard. We were there to see and experience, up close, the “Vineyard in February.” We were also there to taste the artisan wine-must that was awarded Third Prize in a local wine-must competition held by the Sherry Wine Regulatory Authority.

El mosto elaborado por el vinicultor y Sherry Explorer Honorario, José Manuel Bustillo estaba genial. El 50% tiene su origen en la vendimia que hicimos los Sherry Explorers, así es lo disfrutamos aún más.

The wine-must was made by winemaker and Honorary Sherry Explorer, José Manuel Bustillo (Busti). It was great! 50% of the wine-must was sourced from the harvest that the Sherry Explorers did. So, we enjoyed it even more.

Nos juntamos unos cuarenta entre los que había sherrylovers de Estados Unidos, México, Francia, Perú, Colombia, Venezuela, Cádiz, Córdoba, León, San Sebastián, Jerez, Sanlúcar, Chipiona, El Puerto… así es que nuestro brindis del mosto fue internacional!

There were about forty of us, including sherry-lovers from the United States, Mexico, France, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Cádiz, Córdoba, León, San Sebastián, Jerez, Sanlúcar, Chipiona, El Puerto…. So, as always, our wine-must toast was international!

Después de la clase y el brindis, disfrutamos a tope de los manjares camperos que habían traído algunos de nuestros Sherry Explorers Chefs´.

After the class and our toast, we thoroughly enjoyed the campfire delicacies that were brought by some of our Sherry Explorers Chefs’.

Después llegó el momento del juramento de los nuevos Sherry Explorers, como siempre muy emocionante y divertido y…

Then it was time for the new Sherry Explorers´ pledge. As always, very exciting and fun. We are now 1429 Sherry Explorers!

Pasamos un día estupendo, buenísimos vinos, comida rica, hicimos nuevos amigos, hubo cante flamenco increíble, sevillanas y hasta el viento se calmo!

We had a great day, we had great wines, we had delicious food, and we made new friends. There was incredible flamenco singing, sevillana dancing, and even the wind calmed down!
