On our first “Third Thursday” of the month the D´Sherry Explorers had their first monthly activity.
14 new Sherry Explorers candidates were sworn in and joined us in a toast. The Marco de Jerez Sherry wines which honored us with their presence during this ceremony were Manzanilla La Goya, Finto Tio Pepe, and Fino Quinta.
Our guest speaker, Evaristo Babé (who is now a Sherry Explorer), provided us with a very informative presentation regarding Brandy de Jerez. Afterwards, we were treated to two different brandies – an aged brandy which was a treat just by itself, and a younger brandy which we used to try new mixed drinks containing either chocolate milk, Sprite, or Coca-cola. All of them definitely worth trying.
The Sherry Explorers contributed delicious tapas most of which utilized strong cheeses which pair wonderfully with Brandy. Another pairing which was also excellent were the desserts which mostly included chocolate as their main ingredient. Thank you all for coming and participating.
