Llegó el día y un buen grupo de Sherry Explorers y amigos nos encontramos en Jerez, en la Yeguada del Bocado.  Nos recibió la Directora de Relaciones Públicas, Patricia Sibajas, que por cierto también es Sherry Explorer.

The day finally arrived and a good group  of Sherry Explorers, and our friends, gathered in Jerez at the Yeguada del Bocado.  We were met by the Public Relations Director, Patricia Sibajas, who is also a Sherry Explorer.

 

La visita fue interesantísima.  Tantas cosas que no sabíamos sobre la yeguada, los caballos, sobre la cría de pura raza española, sobre su historia.  Además escuchar a Pachi es un verdadero placer, conoce el tema a fondo y es entretenida y divertida.

Our visit was a fascinating experience.  There were so many things that we learned about:  the mares, the stallions, the Pure Spanish breed, and their history.  In addition, listening to Pachi was truly a pleasure.  She knows everything about these horses, is lively, and is always a lot of fun.

Vimos la colección de carruajes, preciosos y algunos con muchos años.

We saw their collection of carriages.  They were beautiful and some are true antiques.

…y los caballos.  Pura raza, fuertes, elegantes y con nervio.

…and the horses.  Purebred, strong, elegant, and impressive.

Después de la visita y el espectáculo pudimos disfrutar de los vinos de la Bodega Faustino González que sorprendieron y enamoraron a los que no los habían probado.  Armonizaron de maravilla con las tapas que llevamos les Sherry Explorers.  El jurado secreto eligió como las dos mejores tapas las de Rocío González y Mari Tere Domínguez. ¡Enhorabuena a las dos!

After the visit and show we were able to enjoy wines from the Faustino González winery which surprised and enamored all who tasted them.  They paired perfectly with the tapas that the Sherry Explorers provided.  The “secret jury” identified the best tapas prepared by Rocio González and Mari Tere Domínguez, Congratulations to both!

Jaime González nos habló de su bodega familiar, de la historia y de estos increíbles vinos que embotellan desde hace poco y venden al público y que son todos en rama, merecen la pena. Muchas gracias, Jaime,  Rocío y Momoko.

Jaime González spoke to us about his family winery, about its history, and about those incredible wines which they produce.  They have recently been released on the market and they are all “en rama” (meaning – straight from the barrel).  They are definitely worth tasting.  Thank you very much, Jaime, Rocio, and Momoko.

Fue una mañana completa, aprendimos, nos divertimos, estuvimos con amigos, bebimos y comimos, ¿qué más se puede pedir?
