Surprise Valentine´s Day lunch at El Faro de El Puerto! ¡Sorpresa!

Today, I had a surprise-lunch at the El Faro restaurant in El Puerto.  Since it is St. Valentine´s Day… well, you know.  Our compliments to the Chef, and Sherry Explorer, Fernando Córdoba.  Everything on the tasting menu that we had was exquisite.

We enjoyed some Fino Pavón and some Tío Diego Amontillado with our appetizers, and afterwards we had some Cortijo de Jara, a  very tasty red wine that is made locally in the province of Cádiz.

Since I love desserts, the two that were served were both incredible.  An amazing blend of flavors and textures.  And, to top it all off, I had an herbal tea made out of “Hierba Luisa”(Lemon Verbena), which Fernando keeps fresh in his restaurant.   An unforgettable celebration, and tomorrow…well, back to the salt mines.
