Un año más la Muestra de Vinos Tintos de la Provincia de Cádiz ha sido un éxito total.  Nosotros asistimos el sábado por la mañana y en el claustro del Instituto Santo Domingo había un ambiente estupendo y muchos visitantes.  Tuvimos oportunidad de ver y saludar a muchos amigos y de conocer a otros relacionados con este mundo maravilloso del vino.

Another year of the tasting of Red Wines, produced in the Province of Cadiz, has again been a complete success.  We attended on Saturday morning.  The fantastic atmosphere at the Santo Domingo Institute´s old monastery was enjoyed by a multitude of visitors.  We also had the opportunity to see again, and say hello to, many old friends as well as to meet new friends, who are all aficionados of this wonderful world of wine.

No podía faltar la Bodega Forlong de la que me considero “La madrina” ya que he vivido su evolución casi desde que comenzó a elaborar sus excelentes vinos ecológicos.  Enhorabuena, Rocío y Alex, esto es solo el comienzo.

 Of course, we had to visit the Bodega Forlong stand, since I consider myself to be their “Godmother.”  I have seen this winery evolve from almost its inception to the point were they are now producing their undoubtedly excellent ecological wines.  Congratulations, Rocio and Alex.  This is only the beginning.

Friends from the Ateneo del Vino (Wine Aficionados of El Puerto) and many Sherry Explorers visited the stands.  We also enjoyed the tapas that were prepared by the students of the Institute.

Nos hizo mucha ilusión ver a nuestros amigos de Novena Provincia que nos prometieron venir pronto a hacer su juramento D´Sherry Explorers.

We were also very happy to see our friends from “Novena Provincia” who promised that they would soon come by to take the D´Sherry Explorer´s membership oath.

Entrechuelos es un proyecto de Vinos de la Tierra de Cádiz del grupo Familiar Miguel Domecq. Entrechuelos son unos vinos criados, envejecidos y embotellados en el Cortijo de Torrecera a partir de uvas especialmente seleccionadas procedentes de su Pago de Entrechuelos.  En 2008 se comercializó la primera añada de Entrechuelos.  D´Sherry Exploreres tenemos una visita pendiente a al Cortijo de Torrecera y esperamos poder ir pronto.  http://www.entrechuelos.com/

Entrechuelos is a Cadiz Province wine project originating with the Miguel Domecq family group.  Entrechuelos are wines that are produced, aged, and bottled at the Cortijo de Torrecera and are made from specially selected grapes from the single state Entrechuelos.  In 2008, the first vintage of Entrechuelos was sold.  The D´Sherry Explorers have a pending date to visit the the Cortijo de Torrecera and we hope that we can do so soon.   http://www.entrechuelos.com/

This past summer, along with the Wine Aficionados of El Puerto, we visited the Cortijo de Jara, which in addition to making excellent wines makes a superb olive oil.

Había oído hablar del Fine Tempo y no me defraudó.  Francisco Abate nos explicó Fine Tempo 2010 es un tinto ecológico elaborado con las variedades Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot y Syrah, embotellado por la Compañía General de Vinos de Cádiz, en Arcos de la Frontera.  Elaboran un aceite virgen extra ecológico Oleum Viride y una variedad con algas el Oleum Viride Mare que nos encantó.

I had heard a lot about Fine Tiempo and it did not disappoint me.  Francisco Abate explained to us that Fine Tiempo 2010 is an ecological red wine created using the Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah grape varieties.  It is bottled by the Compañía General de Vinos de Cádiz, in Arcos de la Frontera. In addition, they produce an extra virgin olive oil, Oleum Viride, as well as one containing seaweed, called Oleum Viride Mare, both of which we loved.

The Manuel Aragón Bodega, or Bodega Sanatorio, in Chiclan is well-known in the Sherry wine production zone.  In addition to producing Sherry wines, they also produce red, white, and rosé wines.  The naturally sweet wine, created using the Tempranillo and Syrah grape varieties with a partial fermentaion, was a hit amongst many of the Wine Ateneo members.

Ibargüen es una empresa familiar de 4ª generación situada en la Sierra de Cádiz en una preciosa finca llamada Las Posadas, en la que antiguamente se criaban reses bravas, así como otros tipos de ganadería y cultivos típicos de la zona.
