The Sherry Wine Regulatory Authority recently inaugurated its “Visitor Education and Reception Center for the Sherry-producing Region.” It will be a place where visitors can obtain information regarding Sherry wines, winery visits, and the more than 80 – tourist, gastronomic, cultural and nature related – experiences that are being offered in the eight municipalities that are connected by the Wine and Brandy Route within the Sherry-Producing Region.
There are two main areas at the center. One is the visitor reception center where there are touch-screens installed in the form of stacked wine barrels, and a small store. I really liked the lamps that are large wine bottles hanging from the ceiling. The other area is the tasting room. It is very modern in style and I can hardly wait to attend one of the tastings that the House of Sherry wine regularly conducts. Congratulations to the architects, Juan Manuel Sánchez del Pozo and Rodrigo Díez Pemartín, for a job well done.
