Había llegado el día.  Por tercer año consecutivo organizábamos una Zumba & Sherry Master Class con motivo de la International Sherry Week.  Este año se llevó a cabo en la Bodega Caballero de El Puerto de Santa María.

The day had arrived.  For the third consecutive year we organized a Zumba & Sherry Master Class as part of the celebration of International Sherry Week.   This year we held the class at the Caballero Winery in El Puerto de Santa María.

Asisitimos unas 180 personas que abonamos 5€ que se donaron a la Cruz Roja de El Puerto.

There were 18o persons in attendance which paid a 5€ participation fee.  The money that was collected was donated to the Red Cross in El Puerto.

Una hora y media de Zumba sin parar.  Los 14 instructores que colaboramos hicimos dos canciones cada uno.

An hour and a half of non-stop Zumba.   Each of the 14 instructors that participated led the group by instructing for two songs.

El ambiente estupendo y el sitio increíble.  ¿Qué mejor forma de celebrar la International Sherry Week que bailando y haciendo ejercicio en una bodega, rodeados de botas que envejecen nuestro maravilloso Sherry o jerez?  Yo creo que las saccharomyces del velo de flor lo pasaron genial, bailaron también y se notará en los futuros finos y amontillados.

The atmosphere was great and the site was incredible.    What a better way to celebrate International Sherry Week than by dancing and exercising in a winery, surrounded by barrels which contained aging and marvelous Sherry?  I think that the saccharomyces living in the veils of yeast had a great time and probably danced, too.  I´m sure that we will be able to detect it in the winery´s future finos and amontillados.

Al final el cool down.  Había que estirar esos músculos que tanto habían trabajado y lo hicimos mientras escuchábamos la banda sonora de Top Gun.

Finally, it was time for the cool-down.  We had to stretch those muscles that we had worked so hard.   So,we did it to the theme song from the soundtrack to the movie “Top Gun.”

Luego hubo una rifa y muchos regalos.

Afterwards there was a drawing and many prizes.

Y después de tanto ejercicio, llegaba la hora de una bien merecida copa de East India Solera de Lustau (solo para los adultos ¿eh?), ¿qué más se podía pedir?  Un evento genial.

And after so much exercise, it was time for the adults to have a well-deserved glass of  Lustau´s East India Solera.  What else could you ask for?  It was a great event.

Unos días más tarde Ingrid Miller de Dance & Friends y su hermana, o sea, yo misma, en nombre de Discover Sherry, entregamos un cheque por valor de 1.005€ que habíamos recaudado.

A few days later, Ingrid Miller of Dance & Friends and her sister, that´s me, on behalf of Discover Sherry, turned over a check for the 1,.005€ which we had collected for the event.
