Discover Sherry con amigos de Texas y San Sebastian/Discovery Sherry with Friends from Texas and San Sebastian

Collage flamenco

It wasn´t long ago, that Discover Sherry hosted some friends from El Paso, Texas.  We organized an in-depth visit, to Jerez, for them.  We started with flamenco at the Tabanco El Pasaje, which was highly recommended by or blogger friends at La Sacristía del Caminante.  With a glass  of fino Maestro Sierra in our hands, and seated along rows of wine casks, we allowed ourselves to be transported to another dimension.  I was very happy.  That always happens to me when I share our many local wonders with people who come from afar and I can see that they are truly enjoying themselves.

Collage Real Escuela

The next morning we went to see the Equestrian show at the Real Escuela de Arte Ecuestre (Royal Academy for Equestrian Arts), which they all enjoyed.

Collage coche caballos

It was a beautiful day, so there was nothing better than to arrive at our next destination via a horse carriage.

Indeed, after flamenco and horses, it was Sherry wine´s turn.  I think that they would not have minded living at González Byass for awhile.  They were fascinated by everything there.  I thought to myself: “Mission accomplished.  Both Texas and San Sebastian have fallen in love with Sherry wine and the city of Jerez.”

Group GB

Collage restaurant

As a final touch for this short but intensive visit, we enjoyed the delicacies provided to us by  the Sherry Chef, Javier Muñoz at his restaurant La Carboná.  Four friends, from Corpus Christi, Texas, joined us for lunch after we bumped into them at the González Byass tasting room.   It was an unforgettable experience for everyone.  We hope to see you all again very soon!
