Discover Sherry recommends: ¿A qué sabe nuestra tierra? (What does our land taste like?)

Spirit Sherry Enotourism  and the La Carboná Restaurant have joined forces to create a series of culinary experiences paired with wines from the Sherry Triangle and held in the middle of a vineyard.  We attended one of these incredible events at the Viña de la Z vineyard which is the same vineyard where the Sherry Explorers conducted their harvest in the past years.  We were greeted by Cecilia Rodríguez Roa, of Spirit Sherry (who is also a Sherry Explorer), with a Sherry fino mojito which was refreshing  and very tasty.   Afterwards, as we strolled through the vineyard,  Cecilia talked to us about everything relating to the viticulture and viniculture at the vineyard – from the albariza soil, to the traditional chores in the vineyard, to the evolution of both the grapes and the vines.

Right next to the picturesque well located in the middle of the vineyard, Javiér Muñoz, the Chef at  La Carboná, was standing-by to start the show-cooking part of the evening. Meanwhile,  Cecilia would present the local wines which accompanied each of the courses that would be prepared.

Each course was an absolute delight and each was perfectly paired with the wine that Cecilia had selected.  By the way, the first wine (la Bota de Carmela)  was made with palomino grapes which were harvested by  the Sherry Explorers in 2017!El lugar, la puesta de sol, el ´sonido´de la viña, el tiempo, ….espectacular!!

The place, the sunset, the sounds of the vineyard, the weather…were all spectacular!!  We highly recommend this unique and marvelous experience.

The next event is scheduled for Thursday, June 28th.   Reservations can be made at  info@spiritsherry.com  or by calling  673232507.
