Introduction to: “We listened to the wine, we drank the Flamenco, and we tasted the History.”

It was a very special night with guests who educated us (Ángela Gallego), who delighted us with their music (Sergio Herrrera), and who moved us with their poetry (Aurora Salvador).

All of our senses were involved.  Ángela Gallego spoke to us about the fascinating world of Flamenco, specifically with regard to the four rhythms which we selected to pair with the four sherry wines from the González-Byass winery.  The tapas were prepared by the Discover Sherry Team with ingredients that were common in the Moorish, Sephardic, Gypsy, and Spanish Colonial cuisines.  They were accompanied by Sergio Herrera´s guitar, and the emotive voice of Aurora Salvador.  We couldn´t ask for more.

Congratulations to the members of the Discover Sherry Team, who did a great job in preparing the very special tapas.  Attached is a short video with some photos.  We will later be posting details regarding the presentation of each Flamenco rhythm as they were explained to us by Professor Ángela Gallego, and  to whom we express our gratitude for allowing us to publish her original research notes.
