International Sherry Week con SherryMX en el Hotel Puerto Sherry/ International Sherry Week with SherryMX at the Puerto Sherry Hotel


Celebrando la International Sherry Week en el precioso Hotel Puerto Sherry, pasamos muy buen rato en la cata de cuatro tapas mexicanas recetas de Lalo Plascencia y que nos las fue describiendo desde el Restaurante Balcón del Zócalo en la Ciudad de Mexico, capita.  Ruth Amaya nos fue presentando los cuatro magníficos vinos de la Bodega Sánchez-Romate que armonizaron las tapas mexicanas.

While celebrating International Sherry Week at the beautiful  Puerto Sherry Hotel, we had a great time at the Sherry-tasting that was paired with four Mexican tapa recipes created by Lalo Plascencia, who was describing each dish via live-streaming video from the  Balcón del Zócalo restaurant in Mexico City.  Ruth Amaya was presenting, consecutively and in-person,  the magnificent Sherry wines, from the Sánchez-Romate Winery, that were paired with the Mexican dishes.

Estuvimos con unos compañeros de mesa geniales.  Entre ellos, ¡¡nada menos que tres cocineros!!  Bruno Oteiza, chef, entre otros del Restaurante Bico en Ciudad de México reconocido como uno de los mejores restaurantes del mundo.  El Chef Oteiza abrirá en breve un nuevo restaurante en su ciudad natal de San Sebastian,el Gatxupa,  cuyo Jefe de Cocina es Jimy Ortega, también en nuestra mesa.  El tercero, Peci López, es Jefe de Cocina del catering de la Bodega González Byass.  Todo un lujo.  También nos encantó conocer a Lisi y Mikel, y Eduardo y Sandra.  Esperamos veros a todos otra vez muy pronto.

We shared our table with some very nice people.  Among them, were no less than three chefs!!    Bruno Oteiza,  is the chef of (among others) the Bico Restaurant in Mexico City which has been recognized as one of the best restaurants in the world.  Chef Oteiza will be opening a new restaurant in his hometown of  San Sebastian.  The restaurant will be called Gatxupa and its Head Chef will be Jimy Ortega, who was also at our table.  The third Chef, Peci López, is the Head Chef for the González Byass Winery´s catering service.  It was an honor to be in their presence.  We also had the great pleasure of meeting Lisi and Mikel, as well as Eduardo and  Sandra.  We hope to see all of them again in the near future.
