With a full house, attendees learned a lot and enjoyed themselves, at the Sherry Explorers´meeting  which was held this past 22nd of February.

We began with the swearing-in of eleven invited guests.  They are now part of the incredible group of Sherry Explorers who can be found throughout many parts of the world.  After the oath and the toast, all was well because their lives had suddenly changed!!!

Wine is culture.  It is history. It is the history of the González Byass winery.  It is fascinating. The archivist and document-historian of the González Byass Foundation,  Jesús Anguita, spoke to us about the “soul of González Byass  represented by 7 Sherry glasses”.Entre las diapositivas que proyectó Jesús había una con fotos de directores del Departamento Internacional de diferentes épocas y ahí estaba mi padre, Eduardo Miller Margolles, con su bigote y sus gafas, fue emocionante.

Among the slides that Jesús projected, there were photos of the heads of the International Department during different periods.  There, of course, was a picture of my father, Eduardo Miller Margolles, with his moustache and glasses.  It was a very emotional moment.

I found some memorabilia from the winery – photos, books, commemorative wine glasses, etc.  Of course, our talented designer, Sofía, was in charge of decorating.

Excellent tapas and desserts were brought by the Sherry Explorers.  We harmonized them with some excellent wines, from the González Byass winery, of course –  Tío Pepe, Amontillado AB, Alfonso, and Solera 1847.  Absolutely nothing was left over.

Here is our invited guest, and the Sherry Girls, ready to announce the winners of the tapa contest.
