La Real Orden de Isabel la Católica es una distinción de España, instituida por el rey Fernando VII el 14 de marzo de 1815, con el nombre de Real y Americana Orden de Isabel la Católica, con el fin de «premiar la lealtad acrisolada y los méritos contraídos en favor de la prosperidad de aquellos territorios».

The Royal Order of Queen Isabella the Catholic is a Spanish Civil Order created on the 14th of March 1815, by King Ferdinand VII in honor of Queen Isabella I with the name of “Royal and American Order of Isabella the Catholic.”  Its intention was to “reward firm allegiance to Spain and for meritorious services provided in favor of the prosperity of those territories in America and overseas.” 
S.M. el Rey de España, Felipe VI, ha concedido Petra Rodríguez-Conde Nemeth, nuestra Sherry Explorer en Phoenix, Arizona, la Encomienda de la Orden de Isabel la Católica, en reconocimiento a la labor que realiza como Presidenta y Fundadora de la Asociación de Españoles en Arizona (AEAZ) y como una de las fundadoras de la Fundación de Asociaciones Españolas en Estados Unidos (FAEUSA). El Cónsul General de España en Los Ángeles, D. Javier Vallaure, fue el encargado de imponerle la condecoración en nombre de S.M., el pasado 22 de febrero.

His Majesty, King of Spain, Felipe VI, has awarded Petra Rodríguez-Conde Nemeth, our Sherry Explorer en Phoenix, Arizona, the Medal of the Royal Order of Queen Isabella the Catholic, recognizing her efforts as the President and Founder of the Asociación de Españoles en Arizona (AEAZ) (Association of Spaniards in Arizona) and the Fundación de Asociaciones Españolas en Estados Unidos (FAEUSA) (Foundation of Spanish Associations in the United States). The Cónsul General of Spain in Los Angeles, Mr. Javier Vallaure, was in charge of delivering the decoration, on behalf of His Majesty, on the 22nd of February this year.

Petra y su marido Nelson, fueron parte del primer grupo que hizo su juramento de Sherry Explorers en mayo de 2014.  Hoy en día ya somos 725 y esperamos visitar pronto Arizona para contarles a todos los socios de la Asociación de Españoles todo sobre nuestros Vinos y Brandies de Jerez y Manzanilla de Sanlúcar.  Desde España: ¡ENHORABUENA!

Petra and her husband, Nelson, were part of the first group that were sworn-in as Sherry Explorers in May of 2014.  We now number 725.  We hope to visit Arizona soon, so that we can tell all of the “Asociación de Españoles” members all that we can about our Sherry Wines, Brandies, and Sanlúcar Manzanilla.  All the way from Spain: CONGRATULATIONS!
