Entrevistas en Cadena Ser y en Canal Sur Radio. Cadena Ser and Canal Sur Radio Interviews.

Con motivo de la International Sherry Week nos llamaron para entrevistarnos y contar las actividades que habíamos preparado.  Estuvimos en Radio Jerez de la Cadena Ser con Eugenio Camacho que  presenta y dirige diariamente “Hoy x Hoy”.  Coincidimos en la entrevista con Carmen Aumesquet, Directora de Promoción del Consejo Regulador.

Knowing that we would participate in the International Sherry Week celebrations, we were called for an interview to talk about what activities we had planned. We went to the offices of Radio Jerez, which is part of Cadena Ser, and met with Eugenio Camacho who presents and directs the daily program  “Hoy por Hoy.” We joined Carmen Aumesquet, Publicity Director for the Regulatory Council, for the interview.

Unos días después, el 6 de noviembre para ser exactos, nos entrevistaron en Canal Sur Radio que emitía desde la Bodega Williams & Humbert.  Aquí mientras esperábamos nuestro turno.

A few days later, the 6th of November to be exact, we were interviewed  by Canal Sur Radio journalists which was broadcasting from the Williams & Humbert winery.  Here we are as we waited for our turn.

Primero en directo fue Pablo Cosano, periodista y presentador en Canal Sur TV y Radio quien nos entrevistó. Le conté todo sobre la gala que era esa misma tarde y sobre la Master Class de Zumba & Sherry que era al día siguiente.  Seguidamente se grabó el programa Tierra de Vinos que presenta Javier Benítez Zúñiga y que se emite en Canal Sur Radio todos los viernes a las 19:00 h.  Los entrevistados eramos Paola Medina, la enóloga de la bodega,  Pepe Ferrer que colabora en la sección ´Trabajo de Campo´ y yo (Vicky Miller) en representación de D´Sherry Explorers.

First we were interviewed by Pablo Cosano, journalist and presenter for Canal Sur TV and Radio.  I  talked about the gala celebration that we had planned for that same evening and about the Zumba & Sherry Master Class which was planned for the the next day.   Then they taped the”Tierra de Vinos” program which is presented by Javier Benítez Zúñiga and which is broadcast on Canal Sur Radio every Friday at 7 p.m.   The persons interviewed were Paola Medina, the oenologist for the winery,  Pepe Ferrer who is a presenter for the portion of the show entitled “Trabajo de Campo” (Field Work),and me (Vicky Miller) on behalf of the D´Sherry Explorers.

Os preguntaréis, ¿qué tiene que ver esta foto con lo que aquí estamos contando? Pues si tiene que ver.  Resulta que los tres periodistas que me entrevistaron, Eugenio, Pablo y Javier son ex-alumnos del Colegio Miller.  El primer colegio bilingüe de Jerez que fundó y dirigió mi madre, la Sra.Miller.  Me hace mucha ilusión cuando me encuentro con alumnos después de tantos años, son como mis niños!!

You might ask yourself:  What do these photos have to do with what we are discussing on this post?  Well, there is a connection.  It turns out that the three journalists who interviewed us (Eugenio, Pablo and Javier) are all former students of the Miller School of English.  It was the first bilingual school in Jerez and it was founded by my mother, who was referred to as ” Señora Miller.” For me, after so many years, it is a delight to run into former students.  I consider them all as if they were my children¡¡
