La lluvia no pudo con la Fiesta de los Patios Portuenses y a la hora convenida muchos nos reunimos en el Hospitalito para el encendido del alumbrado y dar así por inauguradas las jornadas.  Con asistencia de las autoridades del Ayuntamiento de El Puerto, El Presidente del Ateneo del Vino, Javier Thuillier y Virginia Miller de Discover Sherry y los Sherry Explorers, dimos paso al encendido, eso sí, debajo de paraguas, que lo hizo más emocionante.

The rain was unable to dampen the El Puerto de Santa Maria Patios Festival.  At the designated time we gathered at the Hospitalito in El Puerto in order to inaugurate the festival´s events.  With the attendance of representatives from the El Puerto City Council, the President of the Ateneo del Vino, Javier Thuillier and Virginia Miller, representing Discover Sherry and the Sherry Explorers, we proceeded to conduct the inauguration ceremony, (even if it was underneath the shelter of umbrellas, which made it even more exciting).

También como parte de la celebración de la Fiesta de los Patios asistimos a la Gala organizada en el Castillo San Marcos y Bodegas Caballero.  Asistió un buen grupo de Sherry Explorers y pasamos un rato estupendo.  Las jornadas fueron un éxito.  Enhorabuena Nani Delgado Poullet, el alma y organizador de esta fiesta y a su equipo, y ahora a esperar a la Fiesta de los Patios de 2018.

Also, as part of the celebration of the Patios Festival we attended the festival gala dinner which was held at the San Marcos Castle and hosted by the Caballero winery.  There was a good-sized group of Sherry Explorers in attendance and we all had a good time.  The rest of the festival´s events was also a great success.  Congratulations to Nani Delgado Poullet, who is the heart, soul, and organizer of the festival.  We also congratulate his team of volunteers and hope to see them again at the 2018 Patios Festival.
